Article #9: Are Your Chambers Filled
"And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches." (Pro. 24:4) Are your chambers filled? If you are honest you must admit the answer is "no." We gather every Sunday to hear the Word of God, but the chambers of our hearts are not filled, so we leave the same way that we came in. It is sad to see and hear how the Body of Christ doesn't seem to know much. Yeah, we know a few scriptures, we know how to speak in tongue, we know how to sow seeds and yet our chambers are not filled. We don't seem to know why we are here, so the chambers of our purpose are never clear. We don't seem to know if it's alright to marry and who to marry or should I stay single, is it ok to have children or not, work full time or be in full time ministry, how to pay our bills, if we should invest, we don't know how to hear from God and this list could go on and on. So our chambers are never filled. We go round and round constantly in a maze trying to get out, but keep running into the "no exit" sign. Until after much despair, after many failures, after constant defeat, we cry out from a pure heart with pure motives: "Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, teach me good judgment and knowledge. Give me understanding and I will keep your word, make me to go in the path of thy commandments and incline my heart unto your word and not to coveteousness. Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken me in thy way." It is only then that we begin the search for wisdom from on high, it is only then that we consider our Creators wisdom more precious than rubies and gold, it is only then that we run without stopping or detouring to the throne of Grace to receive help. It is only then that we his children begin to walk in the Fear of our God and make him our dread. For nothing else matters. It is here that you will count everything up to that point as dung and will forget those things which are behind for real, that you may be found in Him not having your own righteousness, but the righteousness which is of faith in Christ. It is here that you will realize how much time you have wasted and will ask God to give you back the years the locust has eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which (He) I sent among you. (Joel 2:25) It is here that you will ask God to teach you how to number your days. It is here that from the depths of your being you cry out "Give me now wisdom and knowlege. Daily Prayer: Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, teach me good judgment and knowledge. Give me understanding and I will keep your word, make me to go in the path of thy commandments and incline my heart unto your word and not to coveteousness. Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken me in thy way. (2Chr. 1:10, Ps. 119:66, 33-37) /
