Article Two: Part One
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the
knowledge of the Holy is understanding." (Pro. 9:10)
The fear (extreme or profound respect) of the Lord is the
beginning of wisdom. The ability to discern or judge what
is true, right, or lasting; insight.
Why is this? because the bible tells us that the fear of
the Lord (extreme or profound respect) is to hate evil,
pride, arrogancy, the evil way and the froward mouth. (Pro.
8:13)
Are you guilty of calling what is good evil, or what is
evil good? Are you so full of pride you can't say you are
sorry and mean it, a lot of relationships would be saved on
this point alone. Do you take so much pride in your
profession and possessions that you say "my hand has done
this or that? Are you so highminded that a person can't
tell you anything because you know it all or so into
yourself that it is a stench? Are you guilty of taking the
evil way to satisfy your own fleshly desires? Are you
guilty of being snared by your own words then blaming
someone or something else for your problems or situation?
You must repent! (turn from this) Let us hear what our
creator says: "talk no more exceeding proudly; let not
arrogancy come out of your mouth; for the Lord (our
creator) is a God of knowledge and by him actions are
weighed. (1Sam. 2:3)
Daily Prayer:
"Father forgive me of pride, arrogance, my speech and for
not choosing your way. Help me to set a watch over my mouth
that I maynot sin against thee. Give me now wisdom and
knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this
people, teach me good judgement and knowledge, give me
understanding, and I will keep your word, make me to go in
the path of thy commandments and incline my heart unto your
word and not to coveteousness, turn away my eyes from
beholding vanity, and quicken me in thy way."
