Just For You

" If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me."

I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live: Yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life I live now in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. ..who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son... I protest by your rejoicing, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. (Lu. 9:23, Ga. 2:20, Col. 1:13, 1Co. 15:31)

  • Have you struggled with your christian walk?
  • You know there are things like pride, lying, jealousies etc., in you but don't know how to be free.
  • Everytime temptation comes, you give into that one particular sin.

Our Experience is:

  • Repent, promise God we will not do it again-but we do
  • Make resolutions-that don't last
  • Pray, beg and plead with God-but still not free
  • Get convicted again-process starts all over

We ride an emotional roll a coaster-praise God is on our lips, Holy hands are lifted, we have our gifts from the Holy Spirit, we have a face for church, a face for work, a face for our friends, and a face for home-but inwardly we are struggling. But there is good news, you don't have to live like that!!

Jesus says, "deny self, take up your cross, and follow me."

Before the Cross:

  • sin entered the world through Adam
  • None righteous
  • none that understood
  • none that seeketh God
  • Gone out of the way
  • Throat was an open grave
  • Tongue used for cursing, and deciet
  • Feet quick to shed blood
  • Distruction and misery in our way
  • Didn't know the way of peace
  • No fear of God
  • committed: Adultery, fornication, envying etc (all manner of works of flesh)

I am sure you get my point, and agree with "all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God."

When Adam sinned he died spiritually (inward man, true self) This inward man has ideas, flavor, personality, thought, desires, likes and dislikes, will, excitement, affections and intelligence, pride, jealousy, envying, lying, it has strenghth to resist temptations from the outside which is what happens when you can be patient at certain times among certain people. We measure self by our outward actions- whatever we deem wrong we condemn as sin. What issues from our old man is according to human eyes fair, good, decent, moral, and righteous. If  we  use our measurement of sin to measure self we will get rid of the evil part and keep what to man's eyes is the good part. The sinful nature and our self-life is so bound together it's hard to tell the difference. Soon as the sin factor is stirred, self approves and executes-then a sin is committed.
